About Counselling

“A process people seek when they want to change something … explore thoughts and feelings. Counselling can give you time and space to work through problems, issues, or worries with an impartial, experienced professional”

What to expect from me

I offer:

  1. a free, short chat - fill in this form to request one

  2. a 50-minute consultation appointment (£55)

  3. counselling sessions (£55* each)

There is no obligation or expectation to commit to a particular number of sessions. It can be useful to plan for a block of six, in terms of your time and finances. I usually work face-to-face but may be able to offer online sessions. I usually suggest we work together weekly or fortnightly and would like to know what works for you. Sessions are usually 50-minutes.

Please bring questions to the chat and an initial consultation: we can talk about expectations, practicalities and more.

What to expect from counselling

Counselling is a confidential relationship where the client can explore what is happening for them. Counsellors do not give advice but can help you make sense of what is happening / has happened, in a safe, supportive and creative relationship.

Choose an accredited, qualified counsellor. This article shares some tips.

If you would like to research different kinds of counselling, there is a list here - Types of Counselling

It is fine to choose your counsellor based on where they live, what they charge, whether they seem nice - or whether they have availability! It is important you feel safe with the person : counselling can be demanding, and involve talking about difficult things. Trust your instincts.
